Originally published in 1979 by Asahi Sonorama in a series that included works such as "Yoko" by Masahisa Fukase, "Japan, A Photo Theatre II" by Daido Moriyama, and "Yoko My Love" by Nobuyoshi Araki, "Tracks of the City" portrays a Tokyo undergoing transformation during one of its most intense periods, between 1965 and 1970, when entire neighborhoods were demolished and completely rebuilt.
